Globalization has made it easy for us to grasp on the information of the world, jobs and careers are only a click away. Thus creating a competition not only in the working world, but every local professionals needs to be able to compete with expatriate professionals that are working in Indonesia to survive.
 
The business world is trying to cut their workshop and training budget for the new employees by hiring the  right person from the beginning. Many companies are doing a strict placement test in order to avoid recruiting the wrong person. A lot of companies want to hire the RIGHT candidate for the openings they have but find it hard to do, and vice versa, there are many qualified applicants that find it hard to get the right position or the right company with their ability.
 
On the other hand, a lot of applicants also have the dificulties to find the right career, and therefore dificult to find a job. Many employes get bored easily in their job because it is not what they expect it to be, other consequences is that they find it hard to get promoted or worse, dismissed from their job.
Other than the above, there are a lot of other facts, for instance, confused applicants because they didn’t know what position should they apply for, where to work or what company to work for?
 
These confused applicants can be caused by 2 factors:
a. Internal Factors
Internal factor usually relates with internal matter such as:
  • The lack of understanding of their strength and weakness.
  • The lack of early education and recognition of their aptitudes.
  • Unearthed potential of oneself that leads to minimum competence that can increase one  self-worth.
  • Intelligence boundary
  • Wrong labelling of oneself.
b. External Factors
External factors usually relates with external matter or their environment, these aspects can affect intelligence, emotional and spiritual development.
External Factors can also relates with abusive actions, which can also be in the form of “verbal abuse” from the sifnificant adults around, and unfortunately can be more severe than physical abuse.
 
In career development, confused applicants will usually experience problems as follows:
  • Difficult to get a job.
  • Constantly changing jobs.
  • Hard to find the right position.
  • Can’t make any achievement at work.
  • Failure or dismissal.
  • Suicide.
Solution Tips:
  • Knows your temperament and personality. Every person is different and uniqe, every personality tend to have a line of work that suit them. The closer their line of work to their personality, the more comfortable they are in working, therefore they will be more productive they are.
  • Knows your intelligence level. By taking and IQ test, you will know your intelligence level, therefore knows your ability to decide on your line of work, is it great logic and analyzing skill, or a great conceptual skill will help decide the right line of work.
  • Knows your aptitudes. One way to know is by taking the MIQ Assessment. We will know the right direction of their aptitudes and help them to have the joy of working. If we work in the same area as our interests, then the work produced will be maximized constantly.
  • Work on your strenghts and minimze your weakness. Focus on your strenghts, by training, positive self-talk will constantly make you more confident and increase your self-worth in your accomplishment.
  • Consult with expert, if you still haven’t found out about your intelligence level, temperament and personality as well as your aptitude.
